Natural Disasters: Hurricanes/Typhoons/Cyclones

The purpose of this LibGuide is to help students learn about natural disasters and assist them in the research process.

DID YOU KNOW?

The only difference between a hurricane, a typhoon and a cyclone is where the storm takes place? All three terms refer to the same type of storm.

A hurricane occurs in  the Atlantic and Northeast Pacific, a typhoon occurs in  the Northwest Pacific and a cyclone occurs in the South Pacific and Indian Ocean.
