Library Guide Information

This library guide was created to assist a colleague of mine in finding resources for developing curriculum based around service learning and STEM with an emphasis on environmental science.  i would appreciate any links that you think would be useful in any category featured in this libguide.  Please feel free to contact me at any time with suggestions.  

Descriptions

What is Service Learning?

Service-Learning is a teaching and learning strategy that integrates meaningful community service with instruction and reflection to enrich the learning experience, teach civic responsibility, and strengthen communities.

What is STEM?

Stem is science, technology, engineering, and math.  The purpose of STEM is to increase achievement in science, technology, engineering, and math.

What is Environmental Education?

Environmental Education is exactly what it sounds like.  Education about the environment.

Other helpful hints:

I found it very useful to look at suggestions sites may have.  If I found something on a site like Amazon, Youtube, or slidesharer the suggestions the sites offered provided other useful resources.  I also found it very valuable to look at other people's Del.icio.us tags.  Another thing that helped me a lot was Badgerlink.  It is very easy to access from school, but you may have to enter your library card number in if accessing it from home.
