Oneida comes from the word Onyota'aka, which means "People of the Standing Stone". The Oneida people are originally from New York State. Between 1820 and 1835 many Oneida Tribe members moved to Green Bay, Wisconsin and Ontario, Canada. The Oneida Tribe was one of the original members of the Iriquois Confederacy.
