Process

Day 1

Meet with your group.  Go over the roles your teacher selected for you.  Talk with your group to make sure all group members understand their roles and the task that accompany them.  

Day 2

On the KWL chart, write down the tasks you need to accomplish with your assigned role.  What is your responsibility to the group?  Turn in the KWL (graphic organizer) to the teacher.  Continue to fill in this sheet as you learn new ideas, facts, and content.  

Begin to research your role.

Day 3

Research your assigned role and begin to think of what opinion and arguments you will bring to your group members.

Continue to complete your KWL chart and cite your sources

Day 4

Complete the "Three Minute Pause."

Begin to finalize the research on your role.

Remember to cite your sources.

Day 5

Use the day to finalize the research information connected to your assigned role.  

Review your information as well as the information of your group members.  Agree to a final solution to present to your group and begin to brainstorm how you want to present your information (Powerpoint, Prezi, Video, Research Paper, etc.)

Day 6

At the beginning of class, your teacher will present a variety of formats available to you to use to present your information.  

Work in your groups to select your format.  Once decided, use the remainder of the class time to begin the set-up process.  

Days 7, 8, 9

Student work days!

Make sure your group stays on track and is expected to finish the presentation in the time given.  

If you are having trouble, please check-in with your teacher.  

Remember to include your work cited sources into your presentation!  

Day 10

Present your final solution to the class.  If applicable, present your final presentation to a community gathering such as a town council meeting or school board meeting.

Complete a final "Three Minute Pause" and the "Group Participation Rubric"

Be prepared to ask and answer questions from those watching your presentation.  

Remember to submit your research notes to the teacher at the end of your project!
