Before After
Our school needs your help! You have the unique opportunity to plan a butterfly garden that will be planted on our school grounds! Help make our school grounds as beautiful as the other schools in our district.
We need to design a butterfly garden in a 10 foot by 12 foot space that will be purchased and planted here at our school. Our budget is $200. Let's create a garden design plan together by using graph paper or the online Better Homes and Gardens design template.
Today's goal is to find out what elements make a good butterfly garden.

Remember to take notes on the types of plants we will need because we will start the design process tomorrow!
Today we will start designing the layout for our garden, using either graph paper or the Better Homes and Gardens design tool.
Don't forget to check out the sample garden layouts for ideas and remember to plot the dimensions of your plants to fit in a 10 X 12 foot plot!

Now it's time to share our designs. Each group will have 5 to 10 minutes to present their ideas to the large group. After the presentations are done, we will vote for the best design. The winner's design will be presented to the PTA and will hopefully be started this school year!
