Book trailers are a fun way to get students excited about books!  Have them view the trailer to a book they want to read or better yet, have them create a trailer for a book they just finished!

Newbery Award Winners - An award given to the author of the most distinguished contribution to American literature for children

Book Nuts Reading Club - Defines the different genres and gives books to read in each genre

Caldecott Award Winners - An award given to the artist of the most distinguished American picture book for children.

Scholastic Books - A great site for teachers. It has author talks, discussion guides, book guides and a lot more.  Check it out!

Follette Library Services - A great informational site

Scott O'Dell Historical Fiction Award - A great place to start looking for historical fiction books

Childrens Literature Comprehensive Database - Reviews and critiques of a wide range of childrens books, also includes an annual list of 150 outstanding books.

Database of Award Winning Childrens Literature - Great place to find award winning books

Why and How I teach Historical Fiction - This is off the Scholastic site, I am not a big historical fiction fan so I enjoyed this site.
