Recycle, Recreate!: Home

Take a minute and look through your garbage or recycling bin... you may find just what you need to create an amazing piece of art!

Why A Libguide?

The purpose of this libguide is to provide both students, grades 3-6, and teachers a way to gain knowledge about how to use junk to create art.  As the world creates more and more waste, we need to turn that garbage into treasure.  I hope you enjoy the libguide and may even be inspired to start creating using some of your own junk!

Introduction to Recycled Art

I read "Not A Box" by Antoinette Portis to my class as an introduction to this unit.  To create recycled art one must take normal, everyday objects and look at them a little differently to see their true potential, just like the rabbit in this book.  I have included a video of me reading the book in case you don't have access to it!  Enjoy!
