NY Times Interactive Map - Immigration Explorer
This map allows you to visualize the heritage trends from 1880 until 2000...and every decade in between. You can also select a foreign-born group of people to see how they settled across America.
NY TImes: Mapping America
This map, also by the New York Times, allows you to zoom in and out of geographical areas to obtain data from the Census Bureau's American Community Survey, based on samples from 2005 to 2009. You simply type in the zip code of the area you are interested in, and you can zoom out for a wider region to explore.
