When it came to wars on the water, there were many different techniques to have your ship in the right place to beat the enemy. This link shows the different ship positions that were used. Click on picture to watch video.

This movie shows that if kids can work with something they love to complete an assignment, they will go above and beyond. To make a movie such as this, each of the boat and alll of the people are moved a little and a picture is taken. This process repeats itself hundreds of time and then needs to be linked together. Nicely done!
Along with ship to ship battle, there were also battles on board with hand held weapons. Soldiers boarded the enemies ship and used weapons such as the Boarding Sabre, the Blunderbuss Flintlock Pistol and the Deluxe Flintlock Blunderbuss. Another gun that was often used was the musket. It is said that a bullet from a musket hit Nelson, knocking him to the deck where he broke his back. He later died from his injuries.
In the Battle of Trafalgar, most of the battleships had many cannons but some of the bigger saiing ships had carronades which fired 500 musket rounds at once.
