Tips, Suggestions, and other Aids

As you may know, trying to find information on Asperger's syndrome is like trying to find salt in the ocean.  There are so many resources and websites that it is quite easy to become lost in the sea of information.  Quite frankly, the search process can be quite daunting.  This libguide is an attempt by me to lessen the burden on you, the educator.

Because the focus of this this project is to help middle school teachers find resources that are applicable in the classroom, specifically social strategies, the search outcomes started to become redundant.  I tried to select the sources that I felt would be of the most value to an educator.  This libguide is by no means the answer to all of Asperger's questions, but it is a good starting point.

In an effort to provide a practical, quality resource, I've searched various university libraries, Wisconsin libraries, and international libraries.  I scoured through several databases and found EBSCOhost and Carrot2 to be of the most value.  I've tried just about every combination of the keywords 'Aspergers', 'adolescents', 'social skills', 'classroom', and 'strategies' in order to find the best resources.  Google is an incredible tool and I used it extensively, especially Google Books and Google Scholar.

Below are links to some resources that you may find to be valuable in your research.
